Lead & Steel Oldhammer, ftw!

I'd been looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of Oldhammer vibes, some great-looking games and enthusiastic hosts. Not being a 28mm sci fi gamer these days, the vendors didn't have too much to offer me, but I could see there was a good variety of old and new ranges.
a great little goody bag for the first 75 attendees. The figures will make a nice diversion from 6mm stuff.
One of the bigger games was a multiplayer, GM-led game set in a scavvy, Necromunda-style settlement called Far Corfe, with various factions (including some Gundam mechs) fighting it out for resources.
a classic Genestealer cult limousine!
I was very taken with the Ork glyphs on this battlewagon.
am armoured 'stealer APC.
a game of 40k between Eldar, arriving through a web way gate against a Khornate horde.
this game looked great and must have pleased the Blood God, judging by the amount of close combat that took place.
a game of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. I forget which edition, but it was the one where the magic phase was.. lengthy. The photographer described this game as 'aesthetically pleasing' and in it's simplicity, he was dead right. The first game was Beastmen against another incarnation of the followers of Khorne. The second game I saw that afternoon was Undead versus Skaven.
There was a participation game of Man'o'War that looked very nice.
a Bretonnian fleet faced off against  Dwarf, Empire and pirate fleets.
And finally, the game I was most pleased to see- Adeptus Titanicus!
Thanks to Andrew from Glasgow Games Group for letting me play and take command of an Eclipse Warlord and a ferocious Goth variant Reaver, both from one of the original Traitor Legions - Tigers Eyes, as well as a pair of Deaths Head Warhounds, Mastiff class.
the Traitors faced off against a Warp Runner Warlord and Reaver and an allied Eldar Phantom, no doubt finding common ground in the Scouring.
Simple colour schemes do a lot for the original buildings.
the weapons are all that was left of the Eclipse that tried to close with the Phantom, in order to make the best of it's close combat load out. Its reactor did not survive, although it did destroy one of the Elders pulse laser arms.
the plucky Warhounds took a punishing amount of fire but refused to be destroyed.
beautifully painted.
Victory! The Phantom turned to find a better firing position and was hit in the legs and brought down by the Warlord.

All in all, a most enjoyable day. I made some purchases but they will be covered in another post. Thanks to the Crookes and Crosspool gamers again for hosting, looking forward to next year!
