First building has a walled yard, hinged door and sand added to the base. It will get a dilute PVA was this week then a sand paint job and heavy duty brush. It's crying out for some scatter terrain as well. Does anyone know some good manufacturers of 20mm crates, barrels etc? I'll make a few sacks and stuff from milliput.  I'm happy with the graffiti though. An image from Google, then some jagged cutting out with scissors.

Catching up on the paperwork

Having rediscovered a folder with loads of paper terrain stuff in it and with no major painting projects igniting my interest at the moment, I am clearing my backlog and adding to my terrain. This week, I have been mostly working on a 20mm building.  its pretty rough and ready, but it's fine for my solo gaming purposes and really, what paper terrain looks like the perfect shots one sees online?

Sail away, sail away, sail away...

A few nights of cutting and sticking and binge watching Schitts Creek and the soon-to-be-renamed Karaboudjan is ready to launch. There are a few little fiddly bits that I may or may not add. It's quite large though, so will probably be most likely seen on one of Richard P's mighty big games/tables at Joy of Six etc.

I've been looking for a folder full of various paper terrain craft templates for ages and finally tracked it down this afternoon.  This was a ship that I downloaded years ago, it's a Japanese kit, the ship name on the side is 'The Japan Iron and Steel Federation.' Naturally, I shall rename it the 'Karaboudjan', in keeping with my World of Tintin/Khemed theme.  Work so far...

Tentative Plans for 2024...

I enjoy reading a few wargaming blogs and enjoy the plans, WIPs, painting progress logs etc that gamers record and share. This seems a good a place as any to record my own thoughts so that I can look back at the end of the year and see how I compare. I'm fully aware that my plans, as with most other gamers, rarely survive contact with Real Life. But as Father Ted replied to Fr Dougals pessimistic "it won't work, will it, Ted?" "No, it won't. But we've got to try.." Gaming plans 1. Finish the Khemed Invasion! Campaign. Again, many thanks to the lads at Wasatch Front Historical Gaming Society and their online Warning Order e-zine for the campaign rules and map which I have amended and used.  2. Crisis Point 2024- Operation Armageddon 1969. A game that will see the eminently foolish plan by some hardliners within the Lynch government in Ireland to invade Ulster in order to force a UN intervention to protect the Catholic population.
