Half Term projects

Half term, wife away on holiday, so while the kids entertain themselves, I am looking at bringing some order to this:
This is not a workspace conducive to work.. The first order of business is sorting out the 20mm Paper Terrain middle eastern buildings. These are for Side Project 243778, fighting some of my Khemed games in detail, drilling down to individual squad and platoon actions. 
To which end, I have started on some Khemed regulars and have been researching Real World contemporary forces for inspiration. One image from  Yemen looks like a Land Raider camouflage pattern, circa 1988 and would at least be a striking addition to the tabletop:

However, I've gone for something almost as colourful:

so that will be a job for today, getting a squad of those lads finished.

Dropping down the scales, I also have some Baccus 7YW French to add to the strength. These lads will the Bourbon Infantry regiment and just need their regimental colours adding. 
And finally, I got this building from Wargames Emporium years ago. I think it was part of their Command Horizons sci fi range. I thought it would make a good, modern Khemed government/university/tech firm research building, but I've never been happy with the paint job. 
So it's getting a Dettol bath on the patio.. Any suggestions for how to finish it would be gratefully received. 
And then to finish, I'd like to get an actual game played! More on that to follow...

Khemed campaign, Ride of the Abrams AAR

This battle that took place in Area 15 on the campaign map.. Success here would allow the Marines to strike into the rear areas on the map, needed for success in the campaign. I decided that the Americans would need to cross the board with their whole force to score a victory. The table set up had a number of compounds and trees that provided a lot of cover for an ambush force. I chose 3 random locations and then assigned the 3 on table Khemed units to them using a d6. They would start hidden until theyoved or fired.  I also used this Solo AI that I found online. Khemed forces would base their actions on this.  Below is the board. The US forces would need to travel the length of the road, heading north and exit off the board.  The D6s show where the Khemed forces would be hidden. Skirmish on the edge of Khemikhal

 The first actual tabletop battle was a small affair fought last night.  US forces comprised 302/1, a Marine company of 4 Infantry,  an HMG support platoon and an 81mm support platoon along with an FAO for naval gunfire support.   Facing them was a mixed Khemed force of an armoured recce company of 2 BRDM2 & 2 BMP-2's,  an Infantry company of 4 Infantry,  mortar and HMG and an artillery battery of 3 on table 152mm guns (represented by some 100mm AT guns). Shown above is the outskirts of town,  looking south towards the coast. (I place Khemed as being next to Yemen on the southern coast of the Arabian peninsula). The Marines needed to seize the village and hold it until nightfall on turn 8. Khemed forces would enter from the road to the right in a random order. The very first dice roll of the Americans was a blunder,  which set the tone for much of the game on both sides. Crisis Point- forces and Day One

DAY 1  The Soviet aim was clear- advance across the board, reduce enemy forces but bypass strong resistance and continue the push to Prague. The Soviet forces available were:  224 Motor Rifle Regiment  Mech battalion 2 HQs 3 companies of 6 infantry + 3 M3 half tracks AA M14 half-track with quad .50cals Support company of 2 82mm mortars and 1 DsHK HMG Motor battalion  As above, but mounted in trucks 2 battalions of T44 tanks. 9 tanks + 1 HQ per battalion. The latest in Soviet armour technology and basically what you would expect a tank to look like if a T55 and a T34 had a baby.  Recce- elements of the regimental reconnaissance force- 3 M3 half tracks plus 4 Recce Support T34/85 tanks.
